Within its pages you will find a dynamic and, I hope, entertaining source of information detailing our focus on supermarket lighting.  While you will discover specs of our luminaires, images of projects we have done in the recent past, and read about our philosophy regarding illuminating fresh foods, what you will NOT see within our website might be the most telling.


Unlike our competitors’ websites, you will not find categories such as Hospitality, Commercial, Universities, or Furniture. You won’t see photos of BARO light fixtures shining on shoes, school desks, hair salons, or jewelry cases.


What we do here, and all we do here, at BARO North America is provide innovative and high quality lighting products and designs for supermarket sales areas.  Whether it is a floral display of roses and lilies, a produce case filled with Fuji apples, a meat coffin packed with pork cutlets, or the center aisles, we have a unique, quality lighting option.  If it’s being sold in a supermarket we can light it beyond expectation.


From its very beginnings BARO’s focus has been on fresh foods having been founded by a German butcher looking for a better way to present his cuts. For decades, the BARO brand has been renowned throughout Europe for a high quality, dependable lighting option for food retail.  BARO has grown tremendously since those first days with offices and representatives all over the globe. It can safely be said that no matter what time of the day someone from BARO is talking supermarket lighting whether that is in Singapore, Moscow, Dusseldorf, Milan, London, New York City or Kansas City.


Here at BARO North America, Inc. we have built on that incredible foundation our German parent company has provided us while adding a little American ingenuity to engineer our own line of LED luminaires, the Alpha H. And we’re proud to say we make those fixtures right here in St. Louis. My team and I continue to work to design future product options with an even greater percentage of American components while still providing supermarket owners a superior lighting choice.
